Moab Rustic Inn

Right in the heart of Moab. It's just a block off main street. Fairly inexpensive for Moab. If you can handle a few design quirks with the rooms, you'll love this place. First, the quirks. There is no sink in the bathroom, and second, there are curtains for closet doors. If you can live with that, this place might be for you. Very clean rooms and bathrooms with full-sized tub and shower. Nice size refrigerator with a freezer. Microwave and a double sink. Comfortable beds. Heated, outdoor pool is a little tired but looks well maintained like everything on the property. This place is not fancy, nothing like any national brands we've used in the past. We stayed here two nights and were pleasantly surprised. We would gladly stay again!

Great Inn! We weren't able to stay long enough to enjoy the amenities, but it was a great place to stay. The gentleman that booked our reservation and checked us in was awesome! He was funny, personable, and kind. The lady that checked us out was also great! Loved the rooms and room amenities. While we didn't use them, it was cool the kitchenette was stocked with some supplies. It was also a great place to stay with pup and a 2yr old.

In September my friend and I booked Rustic Inn motel due to the nice reviews. When we arrived the gentleman at the front was very nice, handed us our keys, and sent us on our way. When we got in our room, we checked the mattresses. One of the corners had, what looked to us like, bed bugs. Another corner had a dead black bug. We did not feel comfortable staying in the room, so went to the front to hand in our keys. The man did not know the protocol for this situation, because he was newly employed, and said to contact Megan in the morning. He also mentioned the inn was at capacity (so no different room was offered). Next morning we tried to call twice, but no answer. We sent an email, and mentioned we would like a full refund due to the bugs, and not staying there. Three days go by, we send another email. Another day, we send a Facebook message. Finally, the next day Megan contacted my friend. Megan wrote, because she sent pest control in and closed the room for the day, we were not going to receive a refund. Megan replied once more to my friend, but not after my friend’s last message. Then I emailed wanting answers, one being what other option we had that night, other than sleeping on a bed with bugs. No reply. And, that is the reason this review is so delayed, because communication with Megan was so poor. We have not received a refund, which is quite unethical given the situation. If you stay here, I hope you have a better experience.

We enjoyed our time at the Rustic Inn from the moment we met Marty at check in. He was so welcoming. Our room was clean and spacious. We were close to a lot of different places to eat and shop. At first we thought being off the main road would be disappointing because of no view, but it was quiet and restful. The best thing was the gazebo setting next to the pool. We love playing games and it was the perfect place to do so.

I bet if you are reading reviews of this motel you might be apprehensive of staying at a more modestly priced motel with “rustic” in the title. Don’t be; this place is a gem!! When we checked in we were warmly greeted and the staff was genuinely friendly. After chatting a bit we checked and and looked at the rooms. These are very much the typical sized hotel rooms with a microwave and fridge. They are CLEAN. They haven’t been updated in a while but that actually added to the charm for us. The location of the hotel is ideal as you can walk to the cute downtown for shopping or a meal. Parking is ample at the motel too. The other guests too at the hotel were quiet and respectful. Our kids played in the pool and had a blast. Thank you to the amazing staff for making our stay lovely and being such nice people. We would stay here again in a heart beat!
